Born in Gastonia, NC and raised in Kinston, NC, Gena credits her proudest personal achievements in her life as her five beautiful, intelligent, accomplished daughters and one terrifically handsome, intelligent, accomplished son and of course those eleven wonderful grandchildren. Gena and Harold, love to travel and have visited Europe, South America, Mexico and the Caribbean.

Gena entered her career in real estate in 1994 like gangbusters and has yet to stop! In 1995 she was named the Carteret County Association of the REALTORS in her first year of business.  Gena also obtained her GRI (Graduate of the REALTOR Institute) designation by that year. In 1996 she was President of the Crystal Coast Chapter of the Women's Council of REALTORS while still serving on her local Board as their Secretary. In 1998 she completed the coveted CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) designation and in 1999 she served as President of the Carteret County Association of REALTORS.  Gena still offers to serve on her local Board when called upon.  Gena believes and advocates higher education in the field of real estate and marketing and is always willing to share her expertise and knowledge with her peers.  Gena tries to stay ahead of the crowd and when designations are offered, she gets them as soon as she can to serve her clients and customers better.  Her most recent designations earned are the CLHMS (Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist) and the SRS (Sellers Representative Specialist) designation.
